Poster Sessions
A poster session show cases research, programs, and/or best practices. Unlike a keynote or general interest session, the Poster Session allows institute participants to study the presenter’s information and to discuss it with him or her one-on-one or in a small group. It combines text and graphics to make a visually pleasing presentation. As viewers walk by, the poster should quickly and efficiently communicate the topic
Presenters will set up their poster presentation on the 4’ x 8’ white board between 8-8:30 am and will present in the afternoon from 1:30-2:30. Upon selection, presenters will be provided with guidelines for creating and setting up their presentation to include minimum font size, sample layouts, and required elements. Presenters should prepare a one-page handout for interested participants. The presenter(s) are required to remain at the display board to answer questions and discuss informally the contents of the display throughout the designated poster session. No electrical support or Internet connections are available in the poster session area.

Round Table Sessions

Roundtable Session leaders do not deliver formal presentations. However, they are responsible for providing context, and a framework or preliminary set of questions for exploring the topic. They then facilitate the dialogue giving participants the opportunity to share their own knowledge of and experience with the topic as well as learn from the experience of others in the session. The Roundtable Session will provide the opportunity for staff from all three programs to share information with each other on topics of interest and relevance as related to the Institute theme of School Readiness. There is no audiovisual available for Roundtable Sessions. However, presenters may bring materials or props to support their discussion. Each presenter is required to provide a one page handout for interested participants. The handout should include an introduction to the topic and list of relevant resources.
